Dr. Stancik, born in 1968, studied medicine at the Russian State Medical University in Moscow and finished his training with distinction in 1992. After validating his degree at the Karl-Franzens-Universität in Graz and becoming an Austrian Citizen he started his urology residency in Kaiser- Franz- Josef Hospital under Prof. Wolfgang Höltl. During this time he was the chairman of working group for urologists-in residency at the Austrian Urology Association.

He finished his residency in urology at Hospital Hietzing under Prof. Heinz Pflüger. In 2006 he became a Fellow of European Board of Urology F.E.B.U. and a consultant on the Urology department of the Hietzing hospital. Furthermore he trained as a specialist in HIFU therapy. Dr. Igor Stancik is a member of the Austrian and European Urology Associations and a member of the Urological oncology and prostatic diseases working groups in Austria.
