> Include these seven groups of food every day
|
|
Milk and dairy products. One portion daily, 1/4 litre milk and two slices of
cheese.
Meat and sausages. Eat a maximum of one portion of meat (max 150 g) 2-3 times per week. Offal no more often than once every 3 weeks (150 g).
Fish and eggs: sea fish one to two portions per week (150 g), three eggs per
week.
Bread, rice, pasta, potatoes: five to seven slices of bread every day (200-300 g) and one portion of rice or pasta, cooked, 150-200 g, or potatoes, 250-300 g. (Diabetes patients need to watch their carbohydrate
intake)
Vegetables, fruits, salad: At least one portion of vegetables (200 g) and one portion of salad (75 g) daily. At least one piece or portion of fruits (150 g)
daily.
Fats: Use a maximum of 40 g spreadable fat or cooking fat, for example; 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon plant oil (corn, cold-pressed olive
oil)
Drinking: About 2.5 litres of fluid daily
(for example, water or herbal infusions, diluted fruits juices. (People with cardiovascular disease need to reduce their fluid
intake!)

Try to have regular meals and take your time, avoiding haste. To help feeling nauseous and developing intestinal problems at night, avoid uncooked foods, fruit and fresh fruit juices at night, as well as late meals. |
